The Senior Advancement Officer/Major Gift Officer is responsible for building relationships and securing support for major gifts from SUNY Delhi alumni, faculty and staff, parents, and friends of the college. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for College Advancement, the Senior Advancement Officer will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts from SUNY Delhi’s key constituencies. This individual will work collaboratively with the Director of Annual Giving/Alumni Affairs, the Vice President for External Affairs, and the Assistant Vice President for College Advancement to identify prospects and to create giving opportunities that bundle capital, annual fund, and planned giving commitments where appropriate.
The Senior Advancement Officer (SAO) is an essential member of SUNY Delhi’s Advancement team. This professional will build, develop and manage a portfolio of prospects and be responsible for designing and implementing relationship building and solicitation strategies. The SAO will maintain records of meaningful contacts, visits, solicitations and stewardship activities. The SAO will travel frequently to engage and solicit prospects in support of Delhi students and the strategic priorities of the college. The successful candidate will have a strong appreciation for the public higher education, and SUNY Delhi’s unique position in the higher education landscape.
