In the marketing and communications forum, the featured speakers were Gabrielle DeMarco (pictured), director of marketing and content strategy at UAlbany, and Maggie Barnes, assistant director of marketing for Arnot Health.
DeMarco discussed the recent changes UAlbany made to its digital ad strategy in response to the pandemic. Anticipating that students may be less likely to attend college far from home, UAlbany has focused more on advertising to prospective students in the Capital District.
Barnes shared that her organization has been incredibly busy with digital outreach and media relations. She said that in times of crisis, it’s imperative that communicators go back to basics; deliver a message that is clear, consistent, and concise.
