Recap of April 15 Donor Relations Virtual Forum

Recap of April 15 Donor Relations Virtual Forum

The Donor Relations Forum started with a discussion about efforts to check in with donors by phone. Advancement staff and students have taken on these calls while working from home and donors have been very receptive and grateful for the opportunity to engage in a conversation with a campus connection.

The group also discussed events in the spring and fall. While spring events have been canceled, postponed, or moved online to a virtual format, the question of postponing fall events is still up in the air.

Lastly there was also a brief discussion of the technologies that campuses are utilizing to engage with donors virtually. Zoom and Facebook Live are being used to host virtual events. And virtual meeting platforms, like Zoom, could be used to host one-on-one and smaller meetings with donors, students, and faculty. Thankview, Mythos, and Engage (a platform that works alongside Academic Works) are also being used to steward donors, share student stories, and show how donors are having an impact.
