News: Membership Has Its Privileges

Do you know what company trademarked that expression? It’s hard to believe that it’s been 30 years since American Express launched that ad campaign – check out the phone at the end of this 30-second spot from 1987!

Over the last year or so, we have been migrating to a new membership database and we’d like to take a few minutes to review our membership structure and benefits with you. SUNYCUAD offers institutional memberships and for the low cost of just $200 per year, your college can become a member.  Once your institution is a member, you can include as many colleagues as you would like on your membership list and everyone at your institution qualifies for reduced fees for awards submissions and conference attendance.

Each college has an institutional coordinator who is asked to manage the membership list, but sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands. If you aren’t on your college’s membership list (or if you aren’t sure), head on over to this page and enter your contact information.  If you are already in the database, you’ll get a duplicate error indicating that your email address is already included in our database.  If you aren’t already in the database, you will be added and within a week or two you will receive a follow-up message with your username and password.  Once you have your username and password, you can log in and do a number of things such as:

  • Update your contact information and add a photo
  • Search the member directory
  • Register and pay fees for upcoming events

More options will become available as we build out the platform. For now, we encourage you to check your record and update as needed. If you have any questions about your college’s membership status, or if you have any issues navigating the membership area, please contact our membership coordinator, Kim Berry, and she will assist you.  Thanks for being an active member of our community!
