The Program
The Harry and Barb Charlton Newcomer Scholarship covers registration and hotel costs to the SUNYCUAD Educational Conference. Scholarship applications must be submitted to Charlton Scholars Committee Chair Lexy Rivera at arivera@sunymaritime.edu by Feb. 29, 2024.
Scholarship winners will be personally congratulated and recognized at the conference. For more information on the program contact Lexy Rivera.
Eligibility
This program is designed to offer professional development opportunities to new advancement professionals employed at SUNY institutions. Specifically, eligible applicants include: (1) professionals who have been in their professional field less than three years total, and (2) professionals who have changed from one discipline to another within the last three years. (For example, this means moving from publications to alumni work or from community relations to fundraising. It does not mean moving from one type of work to another in the same discipline, i.e. annual fund to major gifts.) Those who have applied to be Charlton Scholars, but did not receive the award, may re-apply as long as they still meet other newcomer eligibility criteria.
