Awards for Excellence Program

The Awards for Excellence Program’s goal is to identify projects that have achieved outstanding results through good planning, well-conceived goals, and effective solutions. It shares models of performance with the SUNYCUAD membership, and recognizes institutions and individuals for their advancement-related achievements. The Awards for Excellence are presented annually at the educational conference.

How to Enter

Entries can be submitted under each individual category using the forms found on the categories page.

After completing your submission(s) you will receive an e-mail on how to process your payment, using the award payment process page. Payment for multiple submissions can be done at the same time. The deadline for submissions is March 4, 2025.

Important notes:

You must be a member of SUNYCUAD to enter this competition. Strategic and creative work that outside agencies or consultants primarily produce is not eligible for submission in its entirety. However, individual elements of those works produced by an employee at a SUNYCUAD member institution are eligible for submission in their respective strategic or creative category.

All submissions use staff size as a criteria for awards. For categories divided by staff size, include employees whose primary responsibilities focus on the corresponding area and count all employees who contributed to the development and executing the program entered for an award.

• Small Team (1-3 staff members)
• Midsize Team (4-6 staff members)
• Large Team (7 or more staff members)

About the process:

Judging is administered by the SUNYCUAD Board of Directors who seek the advice and insight of industry professionals, colleagues, and peers from within and outside of higher education. They are assigned individual criteria when reviewing entries. Broadly, they are charged with considering the following for each entry:

• Concept, creativity, and clarity
• Research, strategy, and engagement,
• Documented resources, outcomes, and results

Applicants are encouraged to upload images with their entry which may be used in a special presentation at the awards ceremony.

Additional guidelines:

• All submissions must have been developed or distributed in the current or previous academic year (2024-25 or 2023-24).
• All materials must be submitted online.
• Individual programs and pieces can only be submitted for one category.
• Cost is $30 per entry.
• All entries become the property of SUNYCUAD.
