Director of Advancement Financial Services (Senior Staff Associate, SL5) SUNY Cortland

SUNY Cortland invites applications for a full time Director of Advancement Financial Services who will be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting for the Cortland College Foundation (CCF) and CCF Properties, Inc. This position will prepare financial statements, maintain general ledger account analysis and perform financial reporting using Financial Edge; maintenance of investment accounts and related restricted fund balances; prepare the CCF annual budget to include development of an annual spending calculation and oversight of adherence to state legislation – NYPMIFA; audit oversight and annual reporting to outside entities to include SUNY System Administration, CAE/VSE, NACUBO, etc.; perform cash flow analysis and maintenance of electronic funds transfer processes, as well as maintenance of all banking, brokerage, and credit account relationships, and related PCI compliance; Responsible for cash receipts and accounts payable and associated internal controls; Research Foundation payroll contract renewal, provide support to the CCF Finance and Audit Committee; and supervise two full time employees.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; several years of progressive experience in managing budget, financial and accounting operations to include knowledge of GAAP, preparation of financial statement; demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team; strong communication skills both verbal and written; effective interpersonal skills to develop collaborative working relationships; ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and establish goals.

Preferred Qualifications: CPA; experience with financial services in higher education environment; experience working effectively with a Board of Directors; and capital campaign experience.
