Two Farmingdale State College Degrees Are SUNY “Firsts”

November 20, 2016

A BT in Interaction Design and MS in Technology Management — both on the boards for fall 2017 — will be the first degrees of their kind in SUNY.

The MS is particularly noteworthy in that it will be Farmingdale’s first-ever master’s degree.

Interaction Design is a field dedicated to creating relationships between people and their environment. From products and services to computers, mobile devices and appliances, interaction designers ensure that users can utilize devices and other tools in ways that meet their expectations. Graduates of interaction design programs enjoy careers in fields such as web development and design, application development, user interface design (UI), user experience design (UX), interactive installation, kiosk design, museum experience design, data visualization, and more.

The Technology Management program is intended to graduate professionals capable of taking leadership roles in designing, developing, improving, and transforming systems that are the basis for industry. Students will be prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to be imaginative, critical thinkers able to uncover problems, develop logical answers, and apply effective solutions in the practice of technology management.
